MMS Gulf Appoints “Airolink” as the main contractor for its Art Centre project

MMS Gulf has announced the appointment of Airolink Building Contracting LLC as the main contractor for its Art Centre project, to be constructed at Al Barsha Dubai.

At a special ceremony recently held on this occasion, MMS Gulf’s CEO and Partner, Dr. Samer Al Omari signed the main construction agreement for the Art Centre with Dr. Anil Kumar Gopinathan – CEO of Airolink, in the presence of Eng. Mohammed Nimer - the CEO of MAG Group, representing MAG Group (which is the partner in MMS Gulf), Eng. Emad Jaber, Managing Partner of LACASA Architects and Engineering Consultants, and other executive managers from the companies.

Following finalisation of the first construction and shoring package, which began in November 2015, the Art Centre’s main and final construction package is anticipated to be finalised in April 2017, when it will become the first and only specialised mall in the GCC region dedicated to uniting the furniture market under one roof in the heart of New Dubai.

The project will host brands ranging from medium-end to high-end, covering more than 100 retail stores such as: lighting, accessories, home-appliances, kitchens, bathrooms, offices, flooring, textiles, decoration materials and furniture. As well as dedicated special services such as: free valet-parking, a cigar lounge, a children’s play area, a spa, a gym and luxurious cafes and restaurants to assure a 7-star shopping experience.

“The project will be market-leading in the UAE, particularly as there are no other competitors. The timing is perfect because the real estate and the hospitality markets are witnessing a golden era before Expo 2020. This project provides an answer to current gaps in sectors. After finalising the shoring stage, we were eager to sign the main construction package with a company with a stellar reputation and Airolink came out top of the pile. We are very much looking forward to working with them to achieve project aims”. said Dr. Samer Al Omari, CEO and Partner of MMS Gulf.

Founded in 2001 in Dublin, and presently headquartered in Dubai, UAE, Airolink is an unlimited licensed company that defies odds by undertaking and delivering challenging construction feats. Airolink specialises in technically complex and sustainable projects including healthcare, educational, residential, commercial and industrial projects. Backed by more than two decades of experience, the company’s proficiency covers a broad portfolio including expertise in selection of land, financial feasibility of developments, adoption of sustainable design & construction methodologies and in delivering overall ‘Design & Build’ projects, from pre-construction services through to complete turnkey solutions.

With the fast pace of this project, MMS Gulf began initial agreements with possible tenants, after receiving hundreds of applications since the launch of the project.

“We are depending on a special strategy for leasing the spaces inside the Art Centre”, said Mr. Wael Al Kasem, MMS Gulf’s Business Development Manager, “the leasing application exceeded the area of the mall, so we are being very careful in choosing the brands which will be hosted in the Art Center”.
