Nahdi, Saudi Arabia's leading retail pharmacy chain, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zamzam Charity Association for Medical Voluntary Services to support Zamzam's medical convoys and field trips.

The MoU involves comprehensive charity initiatives and projects to serve the towns in need across Kingdom while also activating the role of the private sector in improving community services and the quest for a better tomorrow. It is part of Nahdi’s strategy to expand community health services under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health, and in line with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision.

Mr. Adel Bin Mohammad Bukhari, Zamzam Director General, and Dr. Yousef Al Harethi, head of Nahdi’s organisational and legal affairs, signed the MoU. Recently, Nahdi corporate social responsibility management team took part in the inventory of Zamzam pharmacy and warehouse.

Commenting on the MoU, Nahdi CEO Engineer Yasser Joharji said: “The MoU was part of Nahdi’s medical initiatives to serve the community, as well as its commitment to raise public health awareness in accordance with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision and based on the strategy of the Ministry of Health. As it works to help communities adopt better and healthier lifestyles, Nahdi aims to become a central community pharmacy working in line with the healthcare system. The partnership with Zamzam gives us the opportunity to expand healthcare to support more people who are in need of health services and health education.”

For its part, Zamzam commended Nahdi’s efforts and partnership.  Zamzam Board Chairman Adnan Albar expressed delight with the MoU, which serves the people in need by providing them with medications through field trips and medical convoys dispatched to governorates and villages in the kingdom. He said Nahdi’s team will join these convoys to ensure that medicine is distributed speedily and efficiently.

Nahdi and Zamzam agreed to cooperate to implement the projects mentioned in the MoU. One of these is the charity medicine project, for which SAR 500,000 worth of medicines will be donated by Nahdi to be dispensed during the field trips. Under the “your riyals give hope” project, Nahdi will facilitate the collection of change (riyals and halalas) that customers leave at all Nahdi pharmacies and delivery to Zamzam, were both parties will agree on how to spend these donations on a periodical basis. This is in Addition to the pharmacy charitable initiative that Nahdi would be supporting which includes dispensing of these drugs for the benefit of Zamzam.

Nahdi and Zamzam will cooperate to realize their common goals of serving the community, working forward in the interest of this generous country and keeping up with the kingdom’s new 2030 vision.
