‘MODON’ and Nahdi Medical Company sign an agreement to receive the operational certificate for IMDAD

The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) and Nahdi Medical Company have signed the operational agreement for the IMDAD distribution center in Jeddah. This center, spans an impressive area of 250 thousand square meters, making it the first in the Kingdom and the Middle East to feature a bonded zone officially licensed by regulatory authorities. The total investment in this project amount to more than 1.3 Billion Riyals.

MODON's involvement included overseeing the establishment, development, and operation of the center, reinforcing the strategic partnership between MODON and Nahdi Medical Company. This collaboration is in line with MODON's objectives to facilitate licensing for private cities and industrial complexes and ensure they meet all standards outlined in the Construction, Safety, and Environmental Guide.

‘MODON’ continues to drive forward the industrial and logistics sectors, contributing to the Kingdom's exceptional progress in international indicators and solidifying its position as a global logistics hub. Aligned with the National Strategy for Industry and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Services Program, the IMDAD distribution center exemplifies the success in building and fortifying supply chains with global standards.

Eng. Majed Al-Argoubi, CEO of MODON, highlighted MODON's commitment to delivering added value to its investor partners and fostering a sustainable investment environment to propel the industrial and logistics sectors forward. This commitment includes overseeing the development and operation of 17 logistics centers, collectively spanning over 17 million square meters, as outlined in the general plan. These centers are integral components of the Master Plan for Logistics Centers, which was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in August 2023, with the overarching goal of establishing a total of 59 logistics centers covering an area exceeding 100 million square meters.

He emphasized that MODON has solidified its position as a key enabler of the logistics services sector in the Kingdom. This achievement is underscored by the allocation of 5 million square meters of logistics spaces to specialized companies in industrial cities. MODON remains dedicated to meeting the growing demand, as evidenced by the signing of 45 logistics contracts in 2023, totaling over 838 thousand square meters—an increase of more than 350% compared to the areas allocated in 2022.

Eng. Yasser Joharji, Chief Executive Officer at Nahdi Medical Company said: “The IMDAD distribution center is a strategic partnership with MODON aimed at ensuring the safety and quality of medical and health products through automated operating systems aligned with the requirements of the Food and Drug Authority. Designed to distribute over 250 million units annually, including more than 20 thousand product types, the center ensures prompt delivery within 48 hours throughout the Kingdom. This strengthens Nahdi’s role as a leading national company committed to healthcare excellence, aiming to add beats to the lives of our Guests.”

He highlighted that the state-of-the-art facility has been built to the highest standards, boasting a LEED V4 certificate for sustainable building performance. It features comprehensive recycling programs, having recycled over 1,000 tons of materials in 2023 to conserve resources and promote environmental sustainability.

Since its establishment in 2001, ‘MODON’ has been working to develop industrial lands with integrated services according to the highest international standards. Currently, it oversees 36 industrial cities existing and under development across various regions of the Kingdom, as well as private industrial complexes and cities. The developed industrial lands have exceeded 209 million square meters, with existing industrial cities housing more than 6,680 factories.
