Drive to promote ethics during Haj launched

Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who is also the chairman of the Central Haj Committee, on Sunday launched the Haj 2015 campaign for making pilgrims aware of ethics and regulations at holy places in the Kingdom.

Hisham Al-Falih, adviser to the governor, said the campaign is a concerted effort by several organizations and aims at promoting positive behavior among pilgrims and service providers.
The drive starts with the arrival of pilgrims in the holy cities and continues until they return to their homeland, he said.
The campaign will include spreading awareness about civilized behavior, with a message to respect the holy places and rules and regulations, so that pilgrims do not face any problems, he said.
“In the past, awareness was spread in different languages and through the media with an aim to target a large number of audience, including pilgrims from the Kingdom and abroad, government and private sectors that provide Haj services,” said Al-Falih.
One of the main goals is to tackle the huge number of pilgrims and streamline things at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and at other holy sites, he said.
The campaign has significantly reduced the number of violations and infiltrators at the holy sites, besides improving the health and hygiene standards, Al-Falih added
