Sweid & Sweid Awards Aed 250 Million Contract to Civilco for Banyan Tree Residences

Award-winning UAE-based developer Sweid & Sweid has appointed Civilco Civil Engineering & Contracting Company as lead contractor on the first Banyan Tree Residences to be built in the Middle East.

 

Located on a large island overlooking The Emirates and Montgomerie golf courses, the project sits at the intersection of DMCC and Emirates Hills on Al Telal Street and is scheduled for completion in Q3 2019.

Banyan Tree Residences will encompass 244 residences stretched over 32 storeys and include one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments, duplex apartments with private outdoor gardens, and three full-floor penthouses crowning the building.

 

The single tower development is set within a gated community stretching over 110,000 square feet. The residents-only Clubhouse & Spa includes a state-of-the-art fitness centre, an authentic Banyan Tree spa experience, saunas, a squash court, and an expansive indoor children’s play area.

 

Outdoors, the residents will enjoy a 31-meter resort-style swimming pool, a children’s pool, a children’s play area, and a poolside café, all set along the extensive outdoor green spaces with lush landscaping. Concierge and 24-hour security will be provided, with Banyan Tree’s management ensuring their internationally-renowned levels of service and hospitality are offered to the residents. 

 

Arcan Project Management has also been appointed as project manager. Amid Jondi, Managing Director of Arcan Project Management said “with decades of experience spanning countless towers, we are excited to be a part of this ground-breaking development where numerous components – including the amenities and views – make it a truly unique project in Dubai.

 

Founded in Abu Dhabi in 1974, Civilco has established itself as a leading contracting firm in the country. With previous projects in Dubai projects including the Upper Crest Serviced Apartments in Burj Khalifa District, Pullman Hotel in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Nord Anglia School in Al Barsha South and Dubai Arch Tower in JLT. Prominent developments in Abu Dhabi include Al Wahda City Complex & Grand Millennium Hotel, Al Bateen Towers and Al Mina Residential & Commercial Towers.

 

Civilco was awarded the HSE Achievement Award of ten million-man hours without a major accident/incident during the Al Wahda City Complex & Grand Millennium Hotel. The company was also recognised for its role as main contractor during the aforementioned development, by the Association for Project Management when the Al Wahda Complex was awarded Overseas Project of the Year in 2012.
