Rocket League concludes Gamers8: The Land of Heroes elite action

Gamers8: The Land of Heroes today confirmed details of the highly anticipated Rocket League tournament which will bring to an exhilarating close the biggest gaming and esports festival worldwide.

 

From August 24-27, the best Rocket League teams will battle it out for their share of a whopping $2 million prize pool – with the winners guaranteed to claim global glory and the $500,000 first prize. 

Organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, the eyes of the gaming world will be firmly fixed on the live action from Thursday as the 24 participating teams begin the group stages live from the state-of-the-art Esports Arena at Boulevard Riyadh City.

 

Faisal bin Homran, Chief Esports Officer at the Saudi Esports Federation, said: “Gamers8: The Land of Heroes has seen some of the greatest gaming action ever this summer, and Rocket League is the ideal tournament to conclude the biggest gaming and esports festival worldwide. A high-powered hybrid of arcade-style soccer and vehicular mayhem with easy-to-understand controls and fluid, physics-driven competition, Rocket League has rightly earned a spot as one of the favorite games across the globe. Expect hi-octane thrills and drama galore at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes.”

FaZe Clan, FURIA Esports, Gen.G Mobil1 RacingKarmine Corp, Team Liquid, Team BDS, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Secret, Ground Zero Gaming, Pioneers, Rule One, Team Falcons, Elevate, Gaimin Gladiators, Limitless, Twisted Minds, Version 1, KOI, G2 Esports, OpTic Gaming, Team Vitality, Monkeys, Oxygen Esports, suhh.

Group Stage

Four groups of six teams

Double Elimination Bracket

All matches are best of five (Bo5)

The participants distribute their roster on who will play for them in a 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 game

Order of Games:

Game 1: 3v3

Game 2: The loser of Game 1 picks from 1v1 or 2v2 Game Mode

Game 3: 3v3

Game 4: The Game Mode will be the one that has not been chosen in Game 2

Game 5: 3v3

Top two teams per group – eight in total – will qualify for the Playoffs

Gamers8: The Land of Heroes recap:

Gamers8: The Land of Heroes has a prize pool of $45 million – triple that of Gamers8 last year. The biggest gaming and esports festival worldwide features 16 elite esports tournaments from 13 top titles. There are also live concerts from top global, regional, and local artists, as well as numerous fun-filled activities and attractions for all the family.

The festival concludes with the Next World Forum, a gaming and esports forum held at the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Center on August 30-31, that brings together sector leaders and experts from around the world.
