Nashwa Al Ruwaini addresses the International Business Women’s Group (IBWG) in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, -(ME NewsWire)- May 8, 2016: Pyramedia CEO and renowned media personality, Nashwa Al Ruwaini addressed a packed audience gathered at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi with her experiences and thoughts on women’s empowerment in the workforce. During her address, Al Ruwaini thanked the leadership of the UAE for their commitment to the cause of women which has enabled the UAE to become the most attractive work environment for women in the Arab world. “Our media industry in the Arab region has evolved immensely. The UAE ranks 27th in the world under the Gender Empowerment Measure (GEM), which is the best rating in the Arab world” she said.

A regular name on the Forbes, CEO, Arabian Business among others as Top most powerful business women in the Middle-East, Nashwa Al Ruwaini recounted the challenges she overcame as a 15 year old teenager on radio before becoming the youngest female presenter in the region and then founding the creative department for MBC and heading its business in Cairo and North Africa before opening up her own media production and consultancy, Pyramedia. “I can certainly say that I faced my share of challenges in a male-dominated industry, but if you know me, you would know how much I love a challenge” she said as she encouraged the women in the audience to follow their inner voice despite all odds to achieve their dreams.

Reminiscing her personal experience in the media sector, Al Ruwaini emphasized the important role of women in business urging all women to use their dreams to inspire realization of their ambitions, to be unique and true to themselves as she ended her address referencing a famous quote, “Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are”.
