Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef begins today an official visit to the Republic of Singapore.
The visit aims to strengthen industrial cooperation between the two countries, explore opportunities in automation and smart manufacturing solutions, and advance human capital development, knowledge transfer, and innovation in the industrial sector.
During his visit, Al-Khorayef will meet with several key figures, including the Minister of Manpower as well as representatives from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), major Singaporean companies at the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), and tour Tuas Port, the largest automated port in the world.
Saudi Arabia and Singapore have a deep-rooted relation, with Saudi non-oil exports to Singapore totaling SAR9.3 billion in 2023, while imports amounted to SAR5.9 billion. Key Saudi exports to Singapore included plastics and their products, chemical products, electrical equipment, and metals.
Major imports from Singapore comprised ships, boats, floating structures, optical instruments, medical devices, and pharmaceutical products.
This visit, running from September 1 to 8, is part of an East Asian economic tour led by Al-Khorayef that includes stops in China and aims to strengthen bilateral relations, attract high-quality investments to Saudi Arabia, and identify mutual investment opportunities in the industrial sector.
