Mass Gatherings & Disaster Management Conference to Debut in Riyadh in August 2016

In partnership with the Ministry of Health, Saudi Society for Emergency Medicine (SASEM) and the Global Center for Mass Gatherings Medicine, Mövenpick Hotel Riyadh will play host to the inaugural Mass Gatherings & Disaster Management Conference, August 15-16 2016, it has been announced.

Developed, researched and created with the feedback and guidance of an elite scientific committee, the conference programme boasts an unrivalled speaker lineup, comprising of industry influencers from NGO’s, Hospitals, Military, Police and Health Authorities. Over the course of the two days, delegates will have the opportunity to network, learn and engage with industry visionaries, dedicated to pushing the boundaries in disaster management.

Mass Gatherings and Disaster Management KSA provides a platform for regional and international leaders to join together and pave the way to establish long-term sustainable policies to strengthen their resilience to disasters as well as maintain local and global health security frameworks. The event has secured over 25 speakers across the entire field of disaster management, providing an unrivalled 360 degree perspective of the disaster management life cycle.


The choice of location and timing is significant; Saudi Arabia is responsible for accommodating millions of visitors and pilgrims annually, especially around Hajj and Umrah. As these numbers continue to grow year on year, now more than ever is critical for national and regional authorities to continue to develop its procedures, systems and infrastructure in order to ensure the safety and security of their residents and tourists.
