Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman launched Wednesday the first phase of electronic services provided by the governorate on the Absher e-portal of the Ministry of Interior, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The second phase will be launched within 30 days, which will ensure that 90 percent of services provided by the Madinah governorate can be conducted online.
Prince Faisal said the drive to provide electronic services is in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, aimed at providing quality services for citizens and residents.
He said it was part of the plan of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and interior minister, to ensure most services are available electronically across the Kingdom.
He thanked the National Information Center (NIC) for helping to introduce the new facility in the region.
The NIC provides information technology solutions and services to the ministries and other government agencies in various parts of the Kingdom, making it one of the largest such centers in the Middle East.
