Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, concluded several bilateral meetings with executives of Korean companies operating in the industrial sector, and visited a number of factories in the cities of Ulsan and Changwon.
As reported by the Saudi News Agency, Alkhorayef met with Hyundai Heavy Industries’ executives, and visited the company’s factory in Ulsan, to see the most prominent findings in shipbuilding, industrial and engineering facilities, engines and machinery.
Moreover, the minister discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of marine industries, within the framework of the Kingdom’s abundance of minerals, and a copper foundry and smelting plant in the Al-Khobar Industrial City.
In addition, exchanging of experiences between Hyundai and King Salman International Complex for Maritime Industries and Services was set forth for discussion.
The minister also met with officials of Hyundai Motor Co. for manufacturing cars to discuss the stages of implementing the joint project agreement between the Public Investment Fund and Hyundai, to establish a highly automated factory for manufacturing cars in the Kingdom.
Moreover, AlKhorayef met with executives from CTR (Central Corporation), a manufacturer of auto spare parts, during a visit to the company's headquarters in Changwon, in addition to executives from Shinyoung Co., a manufacturer of auto spare parts and accessories.
The minister’s meetings came within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Korea, with an aim to enhance cooperation and partnership in the industrial and mining sectors, and expand strategic cooperation between the two countries.
