Al Tayer Group, one of the leading UAE-based diversified business groups, has donated 10 ambulances to Emirates Red Crescent.
The 10 Ford E-350 DRW cut-away units were specially converted into ambulances by Horton Emergency Vehicles in Ohio, USA.
HE Ahmed Al Tayer, Director, Al Tayer Group handed over the ambulances to Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Alhaj Al Zaroni, Manager of the Dubai branch of Emirates Red Crescent.
Speaking during the handover, HE Ahmed Al Tayer said: “As a good corporate citizen, we are always looking to make a positive impact on the lives of people in need. We are pleased to work with the Emirates Red Crescent and contribute these hi-tech ambulances for use in places where they are most required.”
The Emirates Red Crescent paid tribute to Al Tayer Group’s initiative and the donation of a fleet of ambulances to support its programmes to enhance the medical sector capabilities in a number of countries and areas, which are experiencing a shortage of this aspect of health services.
The Emirates Red Crescent emphasized that Al Tayer Group is fulfilling a social responsibility alongside its role in boosting the local economy. The initiative is a glowing example of the smart partnership between humanitarian organizations and the private sector in the UAE, which enhances the UAE’s efforts and the ongoing initiative across the international humanitarian domain.
In the UAE healthcare sector, ambulances made by Horton in collaboration with Ford are gaining ground given the track record and performance of the ambulances delivered to clients. The interiors of the ambulances feature advanced composite materials, impervious to water, rot, mould, fungus or infestation, previously used only in aircraft or aerospace applications.
Most importantly the ambulances are outfitted with the Horton Occupant Protection System, which combines advanced restraints multi-density head protection, tubular air bags and head curtain bags to protect medical attendants inside the vehicle in case of any rollover collision impacts.
The donation is part of a series of activities undertaken by Al Tayer Group. Most recently Al Tayer Group created the world’s longest painting - as recorded by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. This was the result of an eight-month long campaign titled ‘I’m Different Just Like You’, in partnership with Dubai Autism Center, where 20,000 children and 4000 adults participated.
The campaign was designed to help increase awareness about autism in the local communities as an educational platform, which was first rolled out to GEMS Education and Taaleem schools after the spring break in 2015.
Previously the Group donated two Ford Mustang cars to the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) for use as First Responder vehicles to reach accident sites quickly and provide integrated care to victims until the arrival of ambulances, in case of emergencies.
Ends.
