To lay the foundations of completely secure communication market schemes, Airbus will reach out to the telecom industry at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. As a known expert and provider of mission-critical communications, Airbus has started to form cooperations with Mobile Network Operators. This serves as a basis to make new technologies available to police officers and firefighters. These future solutions are secure professional apps, group video calls, and real-time data transmission based on Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Oliver Koczan, Head of Secure Land Communications, points out that professional users need to have access to all the future’s smart tools as soon as possible. “Airbus fills the existing gap for public safety by creating an ecosystem for new technologies. As being the frontrunner of the next-generation secure communications technology, Airbus is mastering and accelerating the development of new solutions.” The latest Airbus product portfolio can be applied not only in existing narrowband networks (Tetra), but also most flexibly on various smart platforms.
On the Airbus booth n° 5C45 in hall 5 at the Mobile World Congress (Fira Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain), visitors can get an insight into the latest Airbus smart communications systems: new secure apps for the Tactilon Dabat, the world’s first Android smartphone and Tetra radio in one device, will be showcased as well as the latest version of the Tactilon Agnet app for multimedia group communication.
Furthermore, Airbus intends to attract inventors to the app developer programme SmarTWISP and the competition “Critical App Challenge”. “Our recent hackathon Critical App Challenge in Munich accumulated invigorating and reliable solutions. It has triggered enthusiasm among our partners,” says Olivier Koczan. Airbus will announce the next “Critical App Challenge” shortly. In addition to this challenge, Airbus grows an ecosystem for Tactilon Dabat and gathers app developers to create new digital ideas that will facilitate the daily life of police officers and fire brigades.
