The Shoura Council is to vote Monday on a draft law to recruit workers from Vietnam. The draft has been initialed by the Labor Ministry and its counterpart in Vietnam.
The vote is being taken after the Administrative and Human Resource Committee of the house produced a report stating the views of the Shoura members and their recommendations during the discussion of the draft in a previous session.
The house is also voting on the recommendations of the Water and Agriculture Committee in relation to its yearly report for 2013-2014, which was also discussed in a previous session.
Recommendations were made that the agriculture and labor ministries should coordinate together to overcome the difficulties facing farmers in the Kingdom.
The Shoura will also discuss three recommendations related to coordination with the Ministry of Civil Service to find a cadre of veterinarians and to encourage rural agriculture based on renewable underground water sources, as well as to create a strategic food reserve to guarantee food security.
The council will also discuss the report of the Security Affairs Committee related to the draft of the political agreement for information exchange in "geo-mechanic" intelligence between the ministries of defense of Saudi Arabia and the United States. The report of the Economics and Energy Committee concerning the document on the 10th development plan of 2013-2014 to 2018-2019, will also be reviewed.
It is thought that the Shoura Council will also discuss the report of the Financial Committee about the performance of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) for 2013-2014. The Financial Committee has called on the GOSI to take the necessary corrective steps to correct the deficit and create financial sustainability. It also called for linking the pension to the annual inflation rate to safeguard the purchasing power of pensioners.
The committee added that social insurance must re-evaluate the distribution of the real estate portfolio geographically to limit the focus on Riyadh alone, and to contribute to the realization of economic and social development in all areas of the Kingdom.
