Several new hospitals opened in Jeddah

Several new hospitals were opened in Jeddah on Tuesday by Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and Health Minister Khalid Al-Falih.

The new projects included the 500-bed King Abdullah Medical Complex, which would soon include sections for cardiac surgery, children, pregnant women and eye treatment.
Another 500-bed hospital was opened in the east of Jeddah, which included a dialysis center, intensive care unit, center for burns and departments for newborns, gynecology and obstetrics. The governor also opened 27 primary health care centers in the province. 
Prince Khaled thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for providing quality health services for citizens. Al-Falih said that there was an obligation on every health worker to provide proper care for patients.
“Patients have rights, they must get appointments to see any specialist doctor and launch appeals if medical errors are committed. We have the best medical facilities and staff to handle all types of cases,” he said.
In addition, he said that a Saudi center for infectious diseases has been set up staffed by local and international experts. The ministry was also moving to develop e-services, which would allow patients to make appointments and medical workers track treatment.
He said the ministry has developed partnerships with some of the world’s leading medical providers to ensure quality care for citizens.
