Saudi McDonald’s receives the holy month of Ramadan by launching its annual charity campaign in favor of 14 Charitable Associations

McDonald’s Restaurants in Saudi Arabia has launched its annual “Ramadan Charity Campaign” aiming to support children in need and to encourage children to read books and pass their time with the family. More than 185.000 books are expected to be sold during the holy month of Ramadan. McDonald’s aims to exceed the sum of money collected during last year’s books campaign which exceeded collecting 1.455.000 Saudi Riyal for charity.

The four books (Rana Helps the Pets), (Noor Approaches the Hearts), (Nadeem Shortens Distances), and (Sami Supports the Environment) were specially produced for McDonalds for the holy month of Ramadan. The books are designed to offer valuable life lessons to children and encourages them to practice good behavior, and aims implant the original Ramadan values in their hearts.

The four books are now available, for a limited period, in the 236 McDonald’s Restaurants. The entire income from the book sales will be allocated exclusively to 14 Charity Associations in this year, headed by “Insan, Care and “Voice of Down Syndrome Association” in Riyadh, the “Bina’a Association” in the Eastern Region in addition to the Community Friends Association in the holy Makkah, the “Jeddah Gardens Friends Association”, as well as other Charity Associations.

In this occasion, Mr. Mohamed Ali Reda, Deputy General Manager of Reda Company for Food Services (McDonald’s Restaurants in Western and Southern regions) said: “One of the most important capacities to develop in children, since the earliest age, is to make them habituated to reading books as an important and joyful way to enrich their minds with useful knowledge. This establishes the concept of cognitive curiosity in them in order to draw them near the language and its aesthetics, enables them to acquire a great vocabulary and consequently gives full play to their energies and creative talents. The book is always an important tool of knowledge despite the omnipresence of the Internet and the electronic means of information”.

He added: “Today, with the dawn of the holy month Ramadan, we hope to inspire all the notions of giving, partnership and being with the needy and deserving people of our community. Therefore, we announce an aid allocated to orphans and look at them as an important precious category which deserves all attention and sponsorship. We are convinced that our honorable clients will not hesitate to offer their generous support in buying the four books available in the McDonald’s Restaurants in KSA during the holy Ramadan, the month of Baraka”.

The four books are now available for sale in the "McDonald's Restaurants” until the end of the holy month of Ramadan and at a price of 10 Saudi riyals. It should be noted that each book includes texts in Arabic and English, and tells funny and enjoyable tales, especially when read in the presence of family members.
