Saudi Arabia grants electronic visitor visa to nationals of 8 more countries

The Saudi Ministry of Tourism said nationals from Azerbaijan, Albania, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Maldives can now apply for a visitor visa online, bringing the total number of countries benefiting from this system o 57. 

Nationals from the eight countries can apply for the visitor visa electronically or upon arrival at any port of the Kingdom. 

The move aligns with the Kingdom’s tourism strategy and the sector ambitions in line with Vision 2030, which aims to raise the sector’s contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) from 3% to over 10%. Saudi Arabia also aims to attract 100 million tourists.
