Rousing welcome for king in Jeddah

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman performed the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday morning, before leaving for Jeddah sometime later. He spent the last 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan close to the Grand Mosque.


Soon after the Eid prayer, the king received princes, scholars, sheikhs, former Maldivian President Mohammed Waheed, former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri, ministers and senior officials at Al-Safa Palace in the holy city.


Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Mohammed Waheed, Al-Hariri and other dignitaries also performed the Eid prayer in the Grand Mosque.


Upon his departure from Al-Safa Palace for Jeddah, the king was seen off by Makkah Gov. Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Prince Abdulilah bin Abdulaziz, adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Muqrin bin Abdul Aziz, a number of princes and officials. The king arrived to a rousing reception in Jeddah.


The crown prince, accompanied by a number of princes, also arrived to a grand welcome in Jeddah.
Meanwhile, the deputy crown prince received at Al-Safa Palace in Makkah the Chief of General Staff, General Abdulrahman Al-Bunyan; his deputy Lt. Gen. Fayyadh Al-Ruwaili; and commanders of the branches of the armed forces. 
He congratulated them and also conveyed the king’s Eid greetings to the officers.
