ROKA Riyadh Opens Terrace for Outdoor Dining Experience

ROKA Riyadh Opens Terrace for Outdoor Dining Experience

November, Riyadh, Saudi – Award-winning Japanese robatayaki restaurant, ROKA Riyadh opens their stunning terrace for outdoor dining. Creating an intimate and relaxed ambience, the space features louvered screens around the glass façade and is further adorned with lush planters on the peripherals for a green oasis feel. The sophisticated lounge-style seating creates an exquisite alfresco dining experience. The heart of the terrace is the rich rusted copper DJ booth, with a front row view to the resident DJ whilst enjoying unparalleled views of the city.

Guests will be able to indulge in Rainer Becker’s award-winning menu and choose signature dishes from the flaming robata grill such as kankoku fu kohitsuji (lamb cutlets with Korean spices and sesame cucumber), and kampachi sashimi no salada (yellowtail sashimi, yuzu-truffle dressing). To end the exceptional experience on a sweet note, guests can choose from a variety of delicious desserts such as ROKA’s dessert platter, and hokkaido no yawaraka cheesecake (cotton soft cheesecake with robata grilled pear, cream cheese ice cream).

About ROKA

Following the enormous success of Zuma London, Rainer Becker quickly recognised the huge popularity of robatayaki cuisine and opened ROKA Charlotte Street, London in 2004. The principal cuisine comes from the Robata grill. Located amid diners the grill forms an integral design element of all the restaurants but more than being a stunning feature, the robata is truly the heart of ROKA.

In 2007, Hamish Brown became the Head Chef of ROKA Charlotte Street. A native New Zealander, Hamish brought with him a great passion for blending the great Asian cuisines that make up the Western Pacific Rim. At ROKA, he has developed the restaurant’s authentic but contemporary menu, fusing his knowledge of Japanese ingredients with his love of quality, seasonal produce. In 2013, Hamish became Executive Chef of ROKA Group.

True to name, which means a meeting place where food and drinks are shared around the robata (Ro) and heat, warmth, and an all – embracing energy surround (K). Designed by Norisan Muramatsu, ROKA Riyadh is dominated by a modern industrial feel. The robata counter is made of live edge wood slabs, wall cladding a mix of casted concrete and antique timber, a louvered grid ceiling and concrete finish porcelain floor tiles to provide a distinctly cohesive edgy and chic look and feel.

Celebrating its 16th Anniversary last year, the ROKA Group now includes four London restaurants: Charlotte Street and Shochu Lounge, Canary Wharf (2009), Mayfair (2014), Aldwych (2014), one restaurant in Dubai (2020) and the new launch in Riyadh (2021).
