On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, inaugurated a conference on “Evaluation in the Kingdom: a Prelude to Education Quality and Development” and an accompanying exhibition, in the presence of Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thenayan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Chairman of SABIC, in Riyadh on November 3.
Prince Faisal honored SABIC for its diamond sponsorship of the conference. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Oudan, SABIC Executive Vice President, Corporate Human Resources, received an honorary plaque on behalf of the company.
Speaking on the occasion, Al-Oudan said that SABIC has always given top priority to education and knowledge, along with its industrial, technological and marketing goals. In fact, SABIC’s sponsorship of this conference is driven by its recognition of the importance of education. Education and innovation are among the key pillars of SABIC’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, along with health care, environment protection, water, and sustainable agriculture.
Al-Oudan pointed out that SABIC has adopted a number of educational projects and programs under its CSR strategy, such as its scholarship program, support to universities, Innovation Award, and the Science Caravan.
The three-day “Evaluation in the Kingdom: a Prelude to Education Quality and Development” conference is being held for the first time in the Kingdom. Its aim is to highlight the goals of the Public Education Evaluation Commission, spreading a culture of evaluation among those concerned with education, and building partnerships with organizations, centers and consulting firms specialized in evaluation.
