NWC: Water Is Back to Normal in Jeddah after Finishing Maintenance Activities
NWC assured that water pumping in Jeddah is activated according to operational plans that was set in collaboration with Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC). Water pumping is back to normal since last weekend after finishing maintenance activities in desalination plants.
NWC stated that as of last weekend, it started rescheduling water distribution to suburbs gradually during the last three days. The amounts of water that are actually distributed in Jeddah have reached more than 1.1 million m3 daily. Water distribution plans to suburbs are implemented successfully according to timetables, with remarkable improvement. Also, NWC stated that it is communicating with its customers via SMS for reporting water flow to suburbs gradually, without requesting water tanks.
The first stage of strategic storage program in Jeddah has largely contributed to diminish the impact of water shortage during maintenance period. NWC implemented an integrated work plan for distributing potable water in Jeddah by increasing work in water filling centers and stations for providing its customers with water during maintenance period.
