Microsoft accelerates sustainability efforts with launch of ‘Planetary Computer’

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, has become the first district cooling company in the region to launch e-registration for its customers. The new online registration service enables new registrants and customers to activate Empower services and create their account with Empower through company’s website www.empower.ae in a safe environment and register.  Previously, individual customers, tenants, landlords and real estate development companies had to approach the Company's headquarters or customer service centers, as a prerequisite for registering a project or a property with Empower systems.

Under the current circumstances, company waives this requirement and replaced it with online registration that will enable them to obtain the services and complete transactions remotely through the website with simple and easy steps. The initiative is aimed at Dubai Paperless Strategy that aims at completing the smart transformation and ending the internal and external paper transactions throughout Dubai government departments by 2021 along with achieving the goals of Dubai Smart Initiative that aims to transform Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world. Also ensuring the success of the 'Stay Home' campaign on the one hand, and achieving a qualitative increase in the efficiency of its remote working system as part of the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Empower clarified that, apart from the online registration facility, company has provided a wide range of online services on its website, including viewing, reviewing and payment of district cooling consumption bills, obtaining payment receipts, submitting applications, and updating their data in an easy-to-use and safe environment.

With 100% automated services, Empower has enabled customers to register, obtain services and complete transactions via the website and smart applications, without the need for approaching or visiting our headquarters or customer service centers."

Bin Shafar stressed that the company has made a success in translating the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to the government to reach people instead of waiting for them to come.

Registration process 

Empower has provided a simple and easy online registration process, where customers can access its website at www.empower.com, click on the e-services icon, and then choose the electronic registration from the drop-down list. Online registration can also be accessed from quick links on the home page of the website. A step-by-step guideline is available in the website on how to complete the e-registration process. 

To complete the registration, customers will be requested to fill in personal information, upload documents and choose a payment method. Following registration and each payment transaction, customers will receive instant notifications by email and SMS to ensure smooth and accurate completion of payment transactions.

Applicants will also be asked to download specific documents depending on the consumption segment in terms of being a landlord, tenant or company.  Copy of the passport and title deed of the property will be required in case of a landlord. 

Empower provides district cooling services to over 1,180 buildings and 120,000 customers, with a total cooling capacity of 1,530,000 Refrigeration Tons (RT).
