King Saudi University & stc collaborates to develop Artificial Intelligence technologies

stc Group the digital enabler and King Saud University signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) to enable the development and innovation of artificial intelligence technologies, within the framework of the joint research and academic. 

 

The MOU aims to enhance research cooperation between stc Group and King Saud University by sharing long-standing experiences in the implementation of training programs and artificial intelligence research projects, in a step to enable this technology to elevate the information and communication technology industry, and to exchange consultations across innovation areas, as well as to develop joint projects that enable training, progress and innovative activities. 

 

The agreement was signed by the Vice President of King Saud University for R&D and graduate studies Prof. Yazeed Alsheikh, and Vice President of stc and stc Academy dean, Dr. Moudhi Al-Jamea. Inking the MOU took place during Global AI Summit held in Riyadh from 13 to 15 September and organized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). 

 

Prof. Alsheikh said: "We affirm the pioneering role of King Saud University in developing national capabilities, research, innovation and excellence in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, as the university is distinguished by its eminent scholars, centers and specialized colleges. In persistence to our capabilities, we are pursuing solid cooperation opportunities to further develop national capabilities, especially with stc Group in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies”. 

 

Dr. Moudhi Al-Jamea, Vice President of stc Group and stc Academy Dean said, "As we seek to develop and support the national competencies, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with King Saud University, to better serve the country’s youth, guide and develop their competencies in the technology sector, as well as to enhance their qualifications in artificial intelligence technologies”. 

 

Most notably, the prominent areas that the two parties will emphasize on through the MOU, include smart cities, preventive maintenance, and keeping pace with the national priorities of the research, development and innovation sector, which is represented by leadership in energy and industry, and the future economies.
