Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) has celebrated this year’s International Women’s Day with a Business High Tea & Networking event exclusive for UAE businesswomen. Attended by women business leaders, the event held in Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah served as an excellent platform to connect and learn from fellow female entrepreneurs as well as celebrate each other’s business milestones.
The event was a follow through after RAKEZ has cemented its commitment to empowering women by launching the BusinessWomen Package in August 2019, the UAE’s first-ever business set-up package dedicated to women. Emirati entrepreneur Hessa Al Qassim, Founder of Culinary Boutique, has joined the gathering as a keynote speaker, where she shared the story of her success in an aim to inspire more women to follow her footsteps.
“I remember when we first had the idea to design a set-up package especially for women. We were very excited about it, knowing the impact it will make in empowering women to claim their throne in the business landscape. Now, we are home to over 500 female-led companies operating in various fields,” said Ramy Jallad, RAKEZ Group CEO. “We organised this event to celebrate this elite community and provide them an avenue to exchange ideas and success stories. This gathering is definitely the first of many. Watch this space as we aim to encourage, support and nurture the second half of the community.”
Ms Al Qassim, said: “Women have redefined their role in the society over the years and now is probably the best time in the human history for women to be alive – gender equality has immensely progressed, opening up a lot of opportunities for us to be whoever we want to be. I want more women to understand this, especially the ones who dream to build their business empire. People around us are supportive and even business hubs such as RAKEZ empowers us to achieve our aspirations in life.”
Since the introduction of its women-focused package, the community of women business owners in RAKEZ have grown by 60%.
