The 8th Edition Hotelier Summit-Middle East & 6th Edition RESCOM Summit-Middle East has come to an end after three days of exceptional and inspirational discussions and presentations revealing the futuristic face of construction, real estate and hospitality in the GCC region.
IDE Consulting Services, a leading international organiser of global forums and summits, organized the event that took place from 27th to 29th of September in The Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel in Doha. It has seen the participation of more than 280 industry experts including leading Hotel Owners, Operators, Developers, Architects, Interior Designers, Consultants and Service Providers.
During the first day, the highlight was on smart building branch with an introduction of unique materials and news design that promise to revolutionize the real estate sector in the Middle East region. The environment and sustainability are questions that come back continually when addressing the use of resources in construction. Given the local characteristics, it becomes imperative to adopt new practises and innovative solutions. Jacob Lebo from Almaskari Holding and Orbital Systems has then introduced the showers of future using smart approach to save water.
A panel of presentations related to hospitality and construction regional markets has followed bringing up some outstanding ideas on how to gain a competitive advantage in a moving and changing real estate, hospitality and construction market. It was the opportunity for Saahil Lalit from Collier International to present the trends in the sector and some distinctive ideas and tools for developing and implementing projects in GCC.
The attendees could find out about three different though innovative concepts; 3D mapping and 3D printing in construction industry presented by Faisal Al-Hitmi from Arsenal, modular construction by Nicholas Reynold from Modular Buildings Red Sea Housing Services and the energy management systems in real estate by Simon Hopkins from Trend Controls.
The day ended with an inspirational talk featuring iconic projects that has changed the architectural landscape of GCC countries. Architects and project heads from MYAA architects, Wilson Associates, WATG, and Tangram has offered a unique occasion to depict monumental architectural creations that are now linked in to the identity of the GCC countries. Deep discussions on these projects have allowed coming up with actionable tips based on real outstanding experiences.
The second day started with a presentation on creativity in hospitality design made by Jon Sealy from M&J London, a description of new experiences and environments.
The attendees from all sides has got many mingling occasions afterwards during scheduled meetings, meals times and the gala dinner. This was meant to bring experts, specialists and professionals in the construction and hospitality to come together, get to know each other more closely and build relationship for eventual business cooperation.
Ganesh Babu, Director - India & Middle East of IDE and organizer of the summit has closed the summit with a final talk expectations post event and on how to use effectively the outcome in order to support and strengthen the gulf countries visions for the real estate and hospitality sectors.
Babu has also expressed that “He believes Hotelier and RESCOM Summit had delivered relevant solutions to real need in regional projects to help face challenges in most effective ways”.
