France will be attending CABSAT in Dubai in March 2015
This year, Business France is proud to present 20 innovative companies on the French Pavilion. The audiovisual sector in France is mainly driven by the development of digital technology that has led to radical changes both in industry and in the services development. The major event of recent years is the unexpected success of digital terrestrial television and the development of HD and UHD.
There was a sustained rate of growth in access to digital media. At the end of 2014, 97% of French households had access to digital television (DTTV, satellite, ADSL or cable). 99% of the households have a television set. 83% of households are equipped with a HD Television. 77% are going through DTTV and 39,5% through a HD fiber or ADSL box. Nearly 71% of French households have taken advantage of that access and have gone fully digital. DTTV is slightly decreasing to 57,9%). The reception of TV via ADSL also accounts for significant growth (40,7%). Cable television (8,4%) remains an alternative for large cities, while satellite TV (25%) is growing in areas where cable and DTTV are not present. 3 French households out of 10 watch television through at least 2 types of reception.
Many French companies have expressed a lively interest for the widened tele-visual offer brought about by the introduction of digital television. The number of paying channels has gone up to 136 and services available have significantly increased with the development of HD broadcasting with 6 new HD channels for DTTV. Similarly, the strong development of broadband and high-speed broadband enabled telecoms companies to develop “triple play” and “quadruple play” HD packages, which won a great success among users.
For all these reasons, French audiovisual companies want to go worldwide present their cutting edge technology.
This is why BUSINESS FRANCE is thrilled to be part of CABSAT 2015 and proud to present 20 innovative companies on the French Pavilion:
