Eastern Municipality awards project to establish 2.4M-sqm industrial city in Dammam

The Eastern Province Municipality awarded today, Nov. 3, a project to establish an integrated industrial city in Dammam on an area of 2.4 million square meters (sqm), in addition to developing the infrastructure and services in the site’s industrial masterplan.

 

The scope of work entails building an integrated industrial city, along with the establishment and development of the relevant infrastructure and services.

 

The new industrial city will feature an array of factory activities and light industries, employee housing, and various support services, Eastern Province Mayor Fahad Al-Jubeir was cited as saying by the Saudi Press Agency.

 

The project will contribute to a qualitative shift in accelerating development, rationalizing costs, boosting revenues, and private-sector participation.

 

It will support the provision of local content with zero government capital. This shall help reduce the state’s budget expenditure, while also bolstering Eastern Province’s contribution to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.

 

Al-Jubeir pointed out that the municipality offered more than 400 diverse permanent and temporary investment opportunities across Eastern Province, in cooperation with official bodies. This is besides involving the private sector in the development and strengthening of the province’s economics.

 

The Eastern Province Municipality has determined more than 20,000 investment assets with an area exceeding 116 million sqm, representing a database for a major investment leap in the province.

 

It targets to offer 5,000 diverse investment opportunities by the end of 2026 and invest more than 90% of its investment assets, the mayor highlighted.
