A project status meeting was conveyed at Dubai Customs headquarters for members of the Higher Committee for the Requirements and Management of Dubai Government Excellence Program (4th Generation) to discuss the progress and milestones achieved thus far in the implementation of the 4th Generation of the Government Excellence System.
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, had launched the fourth generation system in March 2015, aiming to upgrade the government work based on innovative and excellence services to attain highest satisfaction rates and people's happiness.
The Director of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, who chaired the meeting, reviewed and approved the methodologies set for implementing the criteria pertaining to the Pioneering Government Entity award category. He also reviewed and approved the submissions for DGEP 2016-2017 edition.
“The Distinguished Medium Government Entity award and Happiness Meter trophy, deservedly won by Dubai Customs earlier in 2016, will serve as a springboard for Dubai Customs to attain new milestones,” said Ahmed Mahboob Musabih.
The Corporate Excellence Section showcased the progress made in the implementation of the new system. An induction seminar on the mechanism of the 4th Generation of the Government Excellence System was carried out to nearly 50 employees. Moreover, Dubai Customs hosted a discussion forum, with the slogan “Stars of Excellence”. More than 25 candidate employees were assessed. A seminar was held for departments and sections heads and DGEP teams to determine the gaps between the requirements of the new system and what has been achieved so far.
The meeting was also attended by Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division, Abdullah Al Khaja, Executive Director of Customer Management Division, Ahmed Al Falasi, Executive Director of HR, Finance and Administration Division, Narmin Issa, Legal Affairs Director, Rami Abu Laban, Corporate Excellence Senior Manager, and Rana Al Rifai, Senior Officer Corporate Excellence and Rapporteur.
