Dubai Customs’ “Leadership Forum” wrapped up last Thursday 26th October. The Forum which was held from 24th to 26th October highlighted the importance of knowledge and expertise exchange between government departments.
The Forum saw the participation of employees from different government departments who won medals of distinction. They were selected to showcase their successful experience and performance to Dubai Customs employees in order to encourage them to do even better and qualify for more medals in Dubai’s Fourth Generation of Government Excellence System.
The final day of the Forum saw the attendance of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs, Hazza Al Nuaimi, Senior Manager of Excellence Initiatives in Dubai Government Excellence Program and a number of directors and heads of customs centers and distinctive employees who were awarded for their achievement and excellence.
Commenting on the Forum, Ahmed Abdul Salam Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence at Dubai Customs pointed out that Dubai Customs aimed at preparing the Department for the upcoming DGEP awards and to encourage employees to participate in the award programs within the Fourth Generation of Government Excellence System.
He added:” Dubai Customs adopts practices and mechanisms to meet the requirements of the Fourth Generation following the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. This has helped us in spreading a culture of best practices and quality within the workplace. We are proud to have won a number of DGEP awards in 2016 which included the Coveted Distinguished Government Department 2016 and the best local department to gain international recognition by scoring 614 points”.
Dubai Customs bagged 115 renowned local, regional and global awards between 2014 and 2016 (35 local, 30 regional, 50 global). Mirsal 2, the integrated smart declaration system, the Risk Engine, which helped automate 97% of declaration processes are amongst the Department’s numerous in-house innovations.
On his part, Hazza Al Nuaimi said that the Leadership Forum shows Dubai Customs’ big efforts in developing government work and honing employees’ skills and capabilities.
Rami Abu Laban, Senior Manager- Corporate Excellence at Dubai Customs gave a presentation about the DGEP awards. He said that the values of the government excellence system go in tandem with the UAE ambitious vision of becoming one of the best countries in the world by 2021.
At the end of the final day, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih awarded Hazza Al Nuaimi and the distinctive government employees who came from different government departments to showcase their successful stories.
