Dubai Culture Announces Launch of Spring Camp 2019

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the launch of its Spring Camp, being organised across Dubai Public Library (DPL) branches, during the spring break that began in the schools across Dubai, from March 31st 2019. Spring Camp is a translation of the Authority’s vision to provide a positive and inspiring environment for the students to explore and learn new skills, and make optimum use of their school holidays.

The 10-day camp is scheduled from 31st March to 10th April 2019, and will hold sessions and workshops across six DPL branches, including Al Twar, Al Rashidiya, Hor Al Anz, Al Mankhool, Umm Suqeim, and Al Safa. Throughout the duration, students are invited to join the programme and enjoy an array of learning and fun activities hosted from 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm, every day.

Dr. Hissa bin Masood, Director of Public Libraries Department at Dubai Culture said,: “This year’s edition features a new and distinctive agenda packed with a range of programmes that appeal to children of all ages. We highly recommend this and encourage parents to enroll their children to these fun-filled productive activities, so that their kids can reap the benefits of the programme, which will develop and hone their creative skills and mental abilities, while boosting their academic performance during the spring break.”

Targeting children aged 6-12, the programme includes specialised innovative training courses on the latest technological advances and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, focusing on future foresight, creativity, and innovation. Aiming to position libraries as an ideal place to learn, the programme also offers a spectrum of art, science, and reading workshops, coupled with storytelling activities, to encourage children to make reading a daily habit, develop their scientific research abilities, and polish their rhetoric and writing skills.

The camp’s activities seek to attract and nurture exceptional literary and artistic talents and help the younger generation to refine their skills by optimising their school vacation as they participate in fun and engaging activities, making their holiday routines more interesting.

Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the UAE’s rich heritage. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures to enhance Dubai's position as a creative and sustainable global city for culture, heritage, arts, and literature, with the aim to empower these sectors by developing creative and innovative projects and initiatives locally, regionally, and globally.
