du showcases Generative AI like ChatGPT capabilities at an exclusive governmental entities padel tournament

du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has successfully concluded its participation at an exclusive padel tournament organised in partnership with dnata Government Travel. From March 8-10, the padel tournament at the World Padel Academy was attended by representatives from government entities across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

As part of its sponsorship support of dnata Government Travels’ padel tournament, du experts showcased the immense potential of Generative AI  further highlighting AI platform's capabilities powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI models like GPT, DALL-E and the Azure cognitive Speech Services and its application to enhance customer engagement.

du’s ChatGPT showcase featured four unique use cases offering an insight into the AI-powered technological phenomenon and its role in creating a futuristic economy. The campaign creatives for the event were generated by Azure GPT which is the first of its kind campaign. The GPT Commentator processed tournament data to generate announcements regarding the winning teams. This was performed by “Khalid – initiated by GPT” an avatar who was doing the commentary. The Wall of Fame use case allowed participants to decorate their images with AI-generated artwork. The final product could be emailed to them or presented as an NFT gift. Additionally, ChatGPT's ability to tell jokes and answer questions enhanced the interactive experience for visitors. 

Reaching a million users in just five days, the ChatGPT technology, which was leveraged through Microsoft’s Azure Open AI service, is set to empower businesses, augment capabilities, and drive efficiencies. du endorsed this technology at the padel tournament, upholding its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments to contribute to significant social, cultural, and sporting events in line with the UAE National Agenda.
