Dreama joins forces with SOS Children’s Villages International to instill best-in-class child upbringing practices in their orphans care center

SOS Children’s Village International, Gulf Area, an INGO dedicated to caring for children without parental care and those at risk of losing it, and Dreama, a pioneering center in providing care to orphans and integrating them into the society in Qatar, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to exchange knowledge and provide capacity building for the best interest of orphans in Qatar.

The MoU was signed by Her Excellency Mariam Al Misned, Executive Director of Dreama, and by Nicole Nassar, Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages International Gulf Area Office in Doha, Qatar.

The agreement will help Dreama orphans care center leverage 65+ years expertise of SOS Children’s Villages International in integrating best-in-class social, scientific, economic and cultural practices in child upbringing into their projects with a view to providing the underprivileged children with appropriate care, rehabilitation and protection.

Commenting on the MoU, Her Excellency Mariam Al Misned said: “We have faith that bringing in expertise with local perspective can result in great benefit to both parties. The two organizations work for the best interest of the children in need and thus we share the same vision of bringing the best future for the children in our care”

“When we team up, share knowledge and act together, we get that much closer to finding effective solutions to ensure that all children, also the most vulnerable, have access to all their rights, have a fair chance to develop to their full potential and later become responsible members in their society. This MoU is another example how we can be more effective when we join hands” said Nicole Nassar, Gulf Area Office Managing Director, SOS Children's Villages International.

SOS Children’s Villages has been operating in the MENA region since 1968. The organization has established SOS villages in Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco, and runs several programs aimed at providing children with quality care and educational support, as well as empowering local communities and strengthening families in crisis to prevent child abonnement in the first place. In September 2014, SOS Children’s Villages opened its Gulf Office in Dubai as an expansion into the Gulf region. With the launch of the Gulf representation & partnership office, the organization operates in 134 countries around the globe.
