Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Education, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for E-Learning, praised the support the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince are extending for education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, citing the smoothness, continuation and success of the educational process virtually, despite some difficulties, as the country is experiencing a period of suspension of class study due to the fight against coronavirus COVID-19.
This came during the fourth meeting of the Center’s Board of Directors which was held virtually under the Minister's chairmanship, where the efforts of using e-learning to ensure the continuity of education in the current period as well as a number of topics on the agenda were reviewed.
In remarks following the meeting, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh said that, during the post-Coronavirus crisis, e-learning will not remain the same as before, praising the role of the National Center for E-Learning before and during the current crisis, and stressing that the Center will have a greater role during the coming period. Distance Education will turn to be a strategic choice rather than just an alternative, the Minister of Education disclosed.
