Audi Challenges Arabia – To dare is to dream

Audi Challenges Arabia – To dare is to dream

Dubai, June 07, 2015 – As a first and exclusive for the Middle East region, Audi Middle East have launched a once in a lifetime opportunity to nominate an Audi challenge that will become a reality for their fans. The www.audichallengesarabia.com microsite was launched on 4th June and invites all who dare, to name the challenge of their choice and become part of Audi history.

Audi Middle East have announced their Audi Challenges Arabia campaign through a bespoke microsite to capture the ideas of their fans who are challenged to nominate possible stunts that Audi can activate during 2015. Over the next few months, the winners from each of the campaigns will be invited to be part of making their Audi challenge become a reality.

“What we’re looking for is not just the hardest or most thought-through challenge possible. We’re looking for the right train of thought to spark an amazing idea and something our team can create into an Audi adventure” said Chayne Brand, Marketing Director of Audi Middle East. “Submit a challenge – if it’s extreme enough – we’ll make it happen. So think out of the box and channel your inner-daredevil. We’ll push Audi engineering to its limits, and put you in the spotlight.”

The www.audichallengesarabia.com microsite will show a notice board with the most popular ideas during the campaign and a panel of judges will select the winning challenges over the next few months. Every challenge will be taken seriously and Audi are looking for the next one to take Vorsprung durch Technik to the next level.

Audi has always been associated with making the impossible possible. Since the beginning of Audi’s history, they have challenged themselves and demonstrated the power of Audi engineering around the world.

Progress is in Audi’s DNA, together with daring and innovation and challenges in the past have included:

The Type C represented the most powerful development stage of the Auto Union 16-cylinder racing car (560 hp). The Streamliner celebrated its debut at the 1937 Avus Race and in the same year Bernd Rosemeyer drove the car on the Frankfurt to Darmstadt autobahn, at a speed of over 400 km/h for the first time on a normal road. Several world speed records were set.
Audi Challenge #2 1984 - Audi Sport quattro S1 Conquers Pike’s Peak
For the first time and for the next three consecutive years, Audi won the Pike’s Peak hill climb with the legendary Audi S1.
Audi Challenge #3 1986 - Audi 80 quattro on The Summit
At an 37.5 angle, and a temperature of minus 15 degrees, the Audi 100 CS quattro completed a legendary stunt by climbing an ice covered ski jump.
Audi Challenge #4 2005 - Audi quattro Ski Jump Climb

Twenty years later, Audi recreated the 1986 stunt of the legendary quattro ski jump climb, this time in Kaipola. Vorsprung durch Technik was at its finest once again.

Audi Challenge #5 2009 - Audi R8 versus Airplane

The Audi R8 V10 sprinted from 0 to 100 km in 3.9 seconds on top of an aircraft carrier while racing an Edge 540 airplane. A triumph of daring.

In one of Audi’s first driverless stunts, the autonomous Audi TTS took on one of the most infamous mountainous drives in the United States without a driver.

Audi Challenge #7 2014 - Audi quattro Tow Skiing Challenge

With a tow from an Audi Q5, free skiing was taken to the next level. Vorsprung durch Technik and extreme sports were made for each other in this challenge.

Audi Challenge #10 2014 - Audi Self-Driving RS 7

At very high speeds the automated Audi RS 7’s automated system can handle everything a driver can, including unexpected situations it has not been directly taught.
