Total Marketing Middle East (TMME), a wholly owned subsidiary of Total S.A, the fourth largest global Oil and Gas company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with American University of Sharjah (AUS) on 8th February at 2:00pm. The agreement sets forth a framework for both partners to collaborate in areas of teaching, research, and professional development.
The MoU formalises and builds on previous cooperation between TTME and AUS, that saw eight AUS graduates placed within Total Marketing Middle East’s Young Graduates Program AMO (Afrique et Moyen-Orient) in 2014 and 2015. Through this 18-month work experience secondment, the students were granted hands-on learning experience at Total subsidiaries in Africa and the Middle East across the company’s three main business lines: commercial, financial and technical.
The MoU was signed at AUS by Total Marketing Middle East’s Managing Director, David Kalife and Dr. Björn Kjerfve, Chancellor of AUS, in the presence of a number of senior officials from both sides. The signing of the MOU was preceded by a brief meeting, to exchange views on possible collaboration in implementation of the MoU.
The MoU will allow both organizations to pursue cooperation in industrial knowledge transfer, research and development to provide a well-rounded curriculum that will enhance the employability of students upon graduation. This will be made possible through
Sseminars and lectures,Iinternships,Ppersonalized programs, jJob opportunities, andIinternational events for both students and faculty. Total currently has over 60 university partnerships around the world. Part of the educational activities will be provided by Total Professeurs Associés (TPA), a non-profit France-based association of over 270 TOTAL professionals delivering lectures, conferences and short courses to university students
