SUSE Selects BPS to Build a Capable Cloud Service Provider Ecosystem in Middle East & North Africa

SUSE, a pioneer in open source software, recently announced the signing of BPS, a pure play service provider channel cloud distributor, as a SUSE distributor for the Middle East & North Africa. As part of the agreement, BPS will spearhead the task of recruiting and on-boarding cloud service providers (CSPs) and providing flexible and bespoke business models for these partners to offer on-demand solutions to their customers.

“The cloud eco-system as a business model is a growing concept in the regional channel. BPS has been focused for several years now on cloud distribution models for various technology vendors in the region. By partnering with SUSE as a cloud distributor for Middle East, their experience will be leveraged to offer such technology-on-demand offerings as an opportunity for partners, to develop innovative delivery methods which in turn will help them become more competitive and to offer a unique value proposition to enterprises”, said Paul Abi-Chahine, regional director, Emerging EMEA, SUSE.

Focusing initially on enterprises in the Telecom, Utilities, Banking and Public sectors, across the UAE, KSA, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Pakistan, BPS will be responsible for building a capable cloud / service provider channel model in the region for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP, SUSE High availability and Management Extensions, SUSE OpenStack Cloud and SUSE Enterprise Storage. In addition to prospecting, identifying and recruiting aspirant CSPs, BPS will be tasked with enabling these partners, specifically by providing concept proposition, skill set enhancement and business re-modelling. For those CSPs that are on-boarded, BPS will continue to support them with end-to-end marketing and sales support, project planning, and technical guidance.

“The solution offering represented by BPS in to pure-play Hybrid-Infrastructure, Application, Security and Business availability nicely complements the solutions from SUSE and only further adds value to the overall proposition, with an emphasis on Enterprise Scalable Linux workloads, Hybrid Cloud Resource Orchestration and also software defined Big Data Storage use-cases. As such this is a win-win for BPS, SUSE, the channel community and most importantly the end customers in the region,” concluded Negib Abouhabib, General Manager, BPS Middle East.
