Spacewalk by Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi Emirati Astronaut as part of his six- month stay at the International Space Station

“As the UAE marks a brand-new milestone – the first spacewalk by an Arab and Emirati

astronaut outside the International Space Station (ISS), the Advanced Technology Research

Council (ATRC) joins the nation in congratulating and celebrating Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi for

this incredible achievement.

Space has often been referred to as the final frontier for humanity. Although the UAE is a

relative newcomer to join the list of space explorers, we have the determination to expand

our understanding of space. Dr. Al Neyadi’s spacewalk in a 145-kg spacesuit - carries with it

the hopes and dreams of a young nation ready to set off on a remarkable journey together

with like-minded partners from around the world.”
