SEDCO Holding Group Inaugurates its 29th SEDCO Football Cup Tournament

SEDCO Holding Group has launched its 29th SEDCO Football Cup Tournament at the Fireball court on February 7th. The 30-day event gathers 450 players from more than 20 various operating companies. The players will enjoy an entertaining atmosphere reflecting the spirit of unity and synergy within the Group. This year’s event was attended by a number of journalists and stars from the Saudi Football League.

The Cup in its 29th edition features the launch of the “Volunteer Your Skills” initiative which aims to encourage each of the teams to undertake voluntary work in a series of selective activities. For example some teams organized a visit to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Jeddah, where they donated blood to the patients in need. Another team participated in interactive games while visiting orphans at Albir Society.

Commenting on the Group’s initiatives to motivate the employees and to develop their competencies under the SEDCO Holding’s CSR platform, Anees Moumina, CEO of SEDCO Holding Group, said: “We are proud to be among the leading initiators who drive the spirit of competitiveness and the moral values within the Group’s employees as we strive to improve their well-being and performance. Our aim is to instill the concept of volunteerism and activate communication among the employees from the various operating companies to encourage making a positive contribution to the local community.”

It is crucial to target the young Saudi community and teach the values of voluntary work according to Dr. Kamal Abdeulaal, CSR Manager at SEDCO Holding Group. “The Volunteer Your Skills initiative aims to shed light on the concept of voluntary work and build connections with the young volunteers and associations.” He then added. “This will best serve the local society as the Group aims to help employees to volunteer their skills, expertise and energetic drive for a genuine cause.”
