You see them everywhere – the mall, supermarket, park and office. They walk around in a daze, with bags under their eyes, a permanent attachment to a large cup of coffee and a wide-eyed glaze as they stare off into the distance fantasising about going back to bed.
They’re called parents and they’re exhausted!
The search to find the UAE’s most sleep deprived mums and dads has been launched across the Emirates and four couples who are constantly kept awake thanks to their little darlings will be treated to a well-rested night, guaranteed.
The newly opened Premier Inn Dubai Ibn Battuta Mall hotel has paired up The Mothership, an award-winning parenting website which offers a very honest take on living, working and parenting in Dubai, to find the most exhausted parents in the UAE and give them a well-earned break.
Helen Farmer, the editor, journalist and mum to 21-month old Phoebe, and the brains behind The Mothership, is inviting parents to share their funny stories, anecdotes and even pictures of sleep deprivation to be entered into a draw to win a guaranteed good night’s sleep at the Premier Inn Dubai Ibn Battuta Mall.
The crazier the better, the submissions to the competition can be entered on The Mothership’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, with the full details outlined on the website, www.themothershipdxb.com.
"I'm really excited to offer fellow parents the chance to find the silver lining in their sleepless nights,” said Helen. “For me, the key to sanity is having something to look forward to, and by offering other mums and dads a stay away from home, and some much-needed help, we can make a real difference.
“After testing the Premier Inn beds myself - and Phoebe had a good jump on them! - I know why there's a Good Night Guarantee; they're super comfortable and will give the worthy winners a much-needed rest."
Parents now have until Sunday 18 December to share their stories and be entered into the prize draw. Two couples will be announced in December and a further two in January, where they will win a stay at the hotel, with award-winning beds and a haven of peace in stylish rooms which come with an official Good Night Guarantee. Their prize includes breakfast, access to the pool and gym and a spa treatment.
For those worried about leaving the kids behind, the competition has tied up with Sublime Home Care, who will provide fully trained nurses at the hotel or at home to look after the children and give mums and dads a break.
The three-star Premier Inn Dubai Ibn Battuta Mall is connected to both the Ibn Battuta Mall and the adjacent Dubai Metro station by pedestrian bridges, giving guests immediate access to a range of entertainment on their doorstep.
Each 28sqm bedroom comes with en-suite bathrooms, a flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a work desk, while Mr Toads Pub & Kitchen is an ideal place for lunch or dinner.
