Schneider Electric Wins Best Corporate Wellbeing Programme and Best HR Technology Implementation

Schneider Electric has won two categories at this week’s Future Workplace Awards, for the best corporate wellbeing programme and the best HR technology implementation. The company was commended for creating a safe, engaging work environment with tools and resources that support work-life integration, as well as the support it has provided to employees throughout 2020. Schneider Electric’s best HR technology implementation award was for its Open Talent Market artificial intelligence-powered internal mobility platform, which creates opportunities for employees to accelerate their career development whilst more efficiently balancing the internal supply and demand of talent.

The Future Workplace Awards showcases the best human resources talent in the Middle East and honors human resources professionals in government and the private sector for their outstanding contributions in creating a high performing workforce for the future. The judging panel was made up of twenty internationally recognised and respected judges from a variety of industry sectors and disciplines.

Five years ago, Schneider Electric introduced a global Employee Wellbeing strategy. The company’s people strategy is built on six strategic transformations: talent; high-performance culture; well-being; learning; leadership, and diversity & inclusion. Throughout 2020, Schneider Electric’s human resources team in North East Africa and Levant has helped employees cope through a focus on mental health and psychological and professional resilience.

Conceived to help the company retain talent, Schneider Electric’s Open Talent Market (OTM) is an intranet site all employees can go to explore a wide variety of career development opportunities, be they new roles, mentorships or projects. OTM uses artificial intelligence to match the supply and demand of talent throughout the company and matches internal roles/projects/mentors with internal talent. OTM helps the company access a diverse talent pool from across the global business, ensuring that employees have a myriad of career opportunities to choose from within the company.

“This year has been the most challenging I can remember, and our focus has been on how can we ensure our people are both physically and mentally well and enjoying what they are doing,” said Peter Hogg, director of talent acquisition for the Middle East and Africa, Schneider Electric. “Healthy, happy people are the basis for an effective organization, and our aim has always been to ensure we are doing all we can to help our people physically, mentally and emotionally. With the OTM initiative, we want to ensure we’re giving our people the opportunity to grow within the company. These two awards are testament to our efforts this year. What matters most to me and all the team is how our people feel, and we’ll continue to prioritize their wellbeing and opportunities throughout 2020 and beyond.”
