Saudi cultural events inaugurated in Australia

Saudi Ambassador to Australia Musaed bin Ibrahim Al-Saleem and Australian Minister for Multicultural Affairs Chris Steele inaugurated Saudi cultural events at the Australian Cultural Diversity Festival.
The event saw the attendance of nearly 500,000 visitors, with more than 44 participating countries. Al-Saleem and Steele toured the Kingdom’s pavilion at the festival.
The ambassador stressed the importance of participating in international cultural events to introduce and promote Saudi culture.
This year’s edition included several exhibitions on heritage and culture, including folkloric and popular shows that inaugurated the festival, a traditional Saudi tent — in which Arabic coffee, dates and popular dishes were presented — and documentary films about the Kingdom in English.
Introductory pamphlets on this year’s G20 Summit, which will be held in Riyadh, were also distributed along with tourism offers in Saudi Arabia.
The rapid development in the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia is the first of its kind in the history of the Kingdom. The sector is witnessing a strategic transformation, as the Kingdom is developing tourism and transport infrastructures.
The recently announced visa system was introduced in a bid to create 1 million jobs within the Kingdom, as well as targeting 100 million tourists by 2030 as part of the Vision 2030 reform plan.
