Saudi Arabia topped the G20 countries in terms of growth in number of international tourists, rising 50% in the first three quarters of 2023 compared to the same period in 2019.
The Kingdom came in second place globally in terms of the growth rate of international tourists during the same period, according to the World Tourism Barometer report issued by the World Tourism Organization for November.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, the sector’s recovery rate in the Kingdom reached about 150% compared to pre-COVID levels, which is higher than the 87% recovery rate achieved by inbound tourism globally and 120% in the Middle East region.
