Sadr Logistics Co. (Sadr) announced the commencement of commercial operations at its wooden pallet factory in Riyadh Second Industrial City, affiliated with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), after fulfilling all necessary requirements and licenses for operation. The plant is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2024.
The company earlier started refurbishing the factory after purchasing it and importing the required equipment. The factory produces high-quality wooden pallets for storage, shipping, and export, meeting international and governmental standards.
In a statement on Tadawul today, Sept. 17, Sadr announced that the factory, in its first phase, is planned to operate with a production capacity of up to 75,000 wooden pallets per month by the end of 2023. In the second phase, it will reach a production capacity of 150,000 wooden pallets per month by the end of 2024.
According to the company, the rehabilitation and acquisition costs of this factory amounted to SAR 10 million for the first phase. The remaining costs to complete the second phase of production lines are SAR 2.5 million.
According to Argaam’s data, Sadr acquired, in October 2021, a factory in Riyadh Second Industrial City, affiliated with MODON, in a public auction. The acquisition of the new factory, which is set to be integrated with the company's production sectors with an area spanning 5,516 square meters, was valued at SAR 4.79 million.
