Ancient Weapon Identified Through Inscription Decipherment; Chemical Analysis and Expert Opinions Confirm Authenticity.
Bern, Switzerland – A sword with a bifurcated blade, previously thought to be a mere copy of the Prophet Muhammad's (571-632 AD) legendary Zulfiqar, has been authenticated as the original after a lengthy investigation. The sword, part of a Swiss collector's private collection, was purchased in 2006 from a Bahraini national residing in the United States. The sword was exhibited in private presentations and a major international arms exhibition with the status of only a copy of Zulfikar.
The relic bears inscriptions in an Arabic-Persian-Turkic dialect that was undecipherable until 2024. With the help of ITSA, a professional translation company, and an Iranian translation specialist, the text was revealed to contain the names of Prophet Muhammad, his daughter Fatima, son-in-law Ali, and sons Hasan and Hussein, along with the claim that the sword is indeed Zulfiqar. The Iranian specialist identified the language of the inscriptions as an Arabic-Persian-Turkic dialect which was in use from the 7th to the 12th centuries in the territory of the beginning of the spread of Islam. The deciphered text unambiguously pointed to the relic's correspondence to the period of the birth of Islam and testified in favor of direct involvement with the Prophet Muhammad and his family
Further analysis by the Swiss Safety Center AG confirmed that the blade's chemical composition matches that of ancient "wootz" steel, lending further credence to its authenticity in 10.10.2024.
To solidify the claim, the sword and its related findings underwent rigorous scrutiny by leading scholars across Europe. Experts in history, metallurgy, and Islamic artifacts from Switzerland and other European countries examined the presented evidence, including the inscription translations and the chemical analysis of the blade. Their consensus confirmed the authenticity of the sword, recognizing it as the legendary Zulfiqar, the sacred weapon of Prophet Muhammad.
The owner and his team are determining the prospects of organizing an exhibition tour to different countries, as well as in co-authorship with reputable scientists are preparing to publish a monograph revealing the main milestones of this unique Sword.
