Public bus transport project in Jazan kicks off

The Governor of Jazan region, Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, inaugurated the public bus transport project in Jazan region, including Jizan, Sabya, and Abu Arish, as part of the gradual rollout of public bus transport projects across various cities and regions of the Kingdom.

 

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the project underscores the leadership's dedication to ensuring accessible and secure public transport services that contribute to enhancing transportation services across all regions of the Kingdom. This project particularly benefits Jazan region, renowned as a tourist destination for visitors both domestically and internationally, aligning with the broader vision of the Kingdom.

 

The project aims to improve the quality of life, support the economic infrastructure of the region, and foster new avenues for investment, commending the efforts made by the Transport General Authority (TGA) and all relevant entities to achieve integration in implementing such important developmental and vital projects.

 

Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Acting President of TGA, emphasized the project's significance, conducted in collaboration with Jazan Municipality, to bolster road safety, streamline intra-regional mobility, and mitigate environmental impact, thereby advancing the goals of the national transportation and logistics strategy. He underscored TGA's commitment to advancing the Kingdom's public transport sector in line with global standards and best practices.

 

The project comprises nine routes, serviced by 47 buses dedicated to providing public transport services across Jazan region, encompassing Jizan, Sabya, and Abu Arish, with 84 designated stops. These services cater to both residents and visitors, operating daily for 18 hours.
