New dishes for those craving Cajun

Cravin’ Cajun has unveiled a lively new menu featuring wholesome dishes from across the USA.

Located in the Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, the ground-floor restaurant has expanded its offering and now serves modern American dishes alongside old-time Creole favourites.

The new offering features hearty appetisers, soups, salads and main courses, not to mention a range of deliciously wicked desserts. Items include:

Maryland crab cakes – Pan-seared with field greens, smoked cherry tomatoes and remoulade sauce;

Chicken gumbo – Grilled chicken and andouille sausage slowly cooked in black roux with onions, bell peppers, celery, garlic, rice and a touch of fresh green onions;

Louisiana praline salad – roasted eggplant and red pepper terrine, pickled apples, chopped pralines and maple vinaigrette;

Seafood jambalaya – Shrimps, crab meat and mussels slowly cooked in Creole tomato gravy with rice, and topped with green onions;

Peanut butter pie –A peanut butter cream-cheese pie on an Oreo cookie crust.

Food and beverage director, Timothy Jay, explains, “The new menu has been specially crafted with signature recipes from across the USA’s 50 states as well as much loved Creole classics such as chicken gumbo and seafood jambalaya. Anyone with a sweet tooth can savour the flavour of indulgent desserts including apple pie or, the Cravin’ Cajun favourite, peanut butter pie. There really is something for everyone.”

Created by F&B Director, Timothy Jay, the new menu is available from the 1st August. Cravin’ Cajun is open 7pm to 11pm, Saturday to Monday.
