Dubai will host the fourth edition of the Middle East Smart Landscape Summit, next week on 25-26 April 2016 at Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa. Held under the patronage of Dubai Municipality and organized by global conference producers, Expotrade, the 4th Annual Middle East Smart Landscape Summit will explore topics that are at the center of smart urban landscape development.
Dr. Mohammed Al Olama, Undersecretary, Ministry of Health along with Her Excellency Engineer Mariam Mohammed Saeed Hareb, Assistant Undersecretary, Ministry of Climate Change & Environment; Essa Al Hashmi, Director of Green Development, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment; Engineer Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Awady, Department Head -Public Parks & Horticulture, Dubai Municipality and Ahmed Saif Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of Agriculture & Public Parks, Ajman Municipality and Planning Department will be part of the opening ceremony.
The two day summit outlines the environmental changes, innovative approaches to green transformation and urban planning solutions with topics focusing on sustainable landscape architecture, designing urban open spaces, digital landscape architecture and high-rise gardens, amongst many others.
The summit will kick start with a presentation from Fatma Al Sulaimani, Landscape Designer, Dubai Municipality on setting a new paradigm in landscape architecture with sustainable landscaping practices for the region of Dubai. Over two days, the summit brings together speakers from the region and across the globe, including experts Taku Suzuki, Landscape Architect, Nikken Sekkei; Charles Peeler, Principal Landscape Architect, Mott MacDonald, Paolo Testolini, Head of Urban Design, Woods Bagot and Eamonn Byrne, Principal Landscape Architect, EBLA to deliver sessions on landscape planning with an emphasis on projects that develop green infrastructure and conservation while bringing to the fore the recent trends in the industry.
Panelists Ameer Ahmad Manyar, Senior Associate Manager – Agriculture Engg., Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority; Dave Shane, Senior Specifications Manager, Rain Bird Corporation; Jason Turner, Manager - Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, GHD; Varghese Thomas, Sr. Manager - Landscaping & Irrigation, Engineering Office and Walter Bone, Senior Landscape Architect, Khatib & Alami on will participate in a panel discussion on the planning and implementation of efficient and successful irrigation systems.
