King Salman opens medical projects

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman inaugurated a number of medical projects of the National Guard, including King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children and King Abdullah International Center for Medical Research and Central Laboratory.

The king was received at the King Abdul Aziz Medical City (KAMC) by Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar, National Guard Minister Prince Miteb bin Abdullah and Prince Saad bin Miteb bin Abdullah. The king was accompanied by Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman, deputy minister of petroleum and mineral resources.

After opening the projects, the king toured King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children and met with a number of children who are patients in the special care unit; he assured them of their continuing medical care.
The king was also briefed on the functions and duties of the emergency department. He also met a number of hospital consultants.

Expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the king for this gesture and the support for the National Guard and its sectors, especially the National Guard Health Affairs, Prince Miteb said that the projects clearly showed the concerns of the government for the health and well-being of its citizens.

Prince Miteb also pointed out that the king's patronage reflected his interest in the health of citizens, the development of the health sector and its continued improvement and progress.

Chief Executive Director of Ministry of National Guard — Health Affairs Bandar Al-Knawy said the launch of the new projects will further enhance the capabilities of the medical sector and raise the quality of health services.

King Abdullah Specialist Hospital for Children is the first medical referral institute in the Kingdom, occupying 192,000 square meters with a total capacity of 600 beds.
