ISNR is a prominent event on the calendar for global security and safety events in the MENA region. It provides public and private sector decision-makers with the latest concepts and technology in the fields of security and protection of critical installations and facilities, and preparedness and response to emergencies and risk prevention.

The opening ceremony will feature a live show that will display an exciting and innovative scenario in emergency response and ensuring public safety. On the second day, the Sixth International Cyber Crimes Conference (IC3) and the Occupational Safety and Health Middle East Conference (OSHME) will be held, during which participants will be able to communicate and exchange best practices with top international experts in this field. More than 20,000 people from over 83 countries are expected to attend, according to the preliminary registration records.

The event will host more than 70 international delegations and includes five exhibitions, more than 60 seminars and 10 live events. New and innovative security-related products and solutions will also be presented during this year’s edition.

Prominent national Emirati companies and a number of leading international companies will be participating in the event. The exhibition provides strong business opportunities for local and multinational companies operating in the Middle East, in multiple areas including cyber security, homeland security, emergency response and workplace safety.

In parallel with ISNR 2016, a number of exhibitions will be held under its umbrella: ISNR Exhibition, Infosecurity Middle East, a branch of Infosecurity Europe; 40 technical security workshops that will be held in collaboration with global cybersecurity specialist (ISC)2; Emergency Response and Disaster Prevention Exhibition; Firefighting Middle East; and Occupational Safety and Health Middle East.

Activities begin tomorrow.

The participants of the UAE World Firefighter Challenge, organized by the Directorate General of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the 911 Challenge Company, have arrived in the UAE. A total number of 300 participants representing 18 international teams from Europe, USA, Canada and Asia, in addition to the teams of major petroleum companies and firefighting companies, will take part in the contests.

For the first time in the history of the competition there will be participation from members of the public who qualified in the finals that were held last week. There will also be special participation from children, which will mark the first event of its kind in the history of the competition worldwide.

The competition aims to develop the capabilities and skills of the civil defense staff, and raise their efficiency and physical fitness to prepare them to perform their duties to the fullest. It also helps to motivate and create an atmosphere of fair competition among them, in terms of speed, skills, physical fitness and correct decision making.

The competition is the first of its kind in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. Its unique, motivating contests in physical fitness, endurance, innovation, and the exchange of skills between firefighters are not limited to men; participation is also open to women.

The MoI allocated a special pavilion for young Emirati entrepreneurs to showcase and promote their projects within the ISNR 2016 activities. The pavilion will be located in Hall 4 of the MoI’s exhibition.

Lt. Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the MoI’s Smart Government Program and Chairman of the MoI Pavilion Committee, said that the allocation of a pavilion to showcase young Emiratis’ projects comes from the ministry’s eagerness to encourage and support small to medium enterprises and to highlight their achievements. It also falls under the ministry’s efforts to further the efforts of the government and a number of local institutions which support youth enterprises, such as the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, which enhance this sector and support its growth.

Lt. Colonel Al Shimmari emphasized the ministry’s role in supporting and offering facilities to the local small and medium enterprises sector, which strengthens the success and sustainability of the sector. This in turn contributes to raising the GDP of the country, he said.

He noted that the exhibition gives 17 national enterprises the opportunity to showcase their achievements and the latest products and services they provide in the fields of security and safety, smart solutions, research and development, and information technology. This conveys our wise leadership’s eagerness to empower young national talent, and our belief in the importance of encouraging and supporting such projects.
