The activities of the International Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016) held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council have concluded on Thursday evening. The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, was officially inaugurated by Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. A total of 530 exhibiting companies from 57 countries took part in the global event, which also hosted 200 high-level official delegations and government buyers from 20 countries.
The seventh edition of ISNR witnessed the participation of 60 world-renowned lecturers who are experts in fields of security and safety, who took part in the second Occupational Safety and Health Conference (OSHME) and the sixth International Cyber Crimes Conference (IC3).
The ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 and the two co-located exhibitions i.e. the Fire & Emergency Middle East (FEME) and the Occupational Safety and Health Middle East (OSHME), have attracted nearly 20,000 visitors from public and private sectors in 90 countries.
At the closing ceremony, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Deputy Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016, extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his generous sponsorship, and to Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his unlimited support and successful follow-up. He also thanked all entities and sectors that contributed to the success of this year’s activities of ISNR.
Major General Al Raisi also expressed his heartfelt thanks to exhibitors who enriched this event with the latest products, equipment and devices; and to all speakers at the conference, who had a positive scientific impact on the deliberations and discussion of urgent issues that yielded beneficial results.
He said: “The seventh edition of ISNR has witnessed a wide and remarkable turnout of people from different age groups and nationalities.” In conclusion, Major General Al Raisi wished everyone the best of luck, and expressed his hope to see them again in ISNR’s eighth edition, scheduled to take place from 27-29 March 2018.”
A variety of activities
ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016 included five exhibitions, more than 60 seminars and ten live events, namely; the seventh International Conference for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016); the 1st International Conference on Security Challenges (ICSC); the “Aftershock II” live demonstration on responding to crises and emergencies; the second Fire & Emergency Middle East (FEME); the second UAE International Firefighter Challenge; the second Occupational Safety and Health Middle East (OSHME); and the sixth International Cyber Crimes Conference (IC3).
Representatives of exhibiting companies hailed the event’s high level of organization, which allowed them to meet a large number of official and commercial delegations from the UAE, the Middle East and the world. They attributed the unprecedented success of the event to a number of factors, such as the area expansion compared to the previous edition, the targeted categories, the high quality of exhibiting companies, the ease of access to exhibitors’ pavilions and their distribution in specialized halls.

Al Raisi Honors heads of delegations and government buyers participating in the Exhibition
The Higher Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016), hosted a dinner banquet on Wednesday evening in honor of the heads of delegations, exhibitors and participants at the exhibition. The banquet was held at the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the ISNR’s Higher Organizing Committee; Frederic Theux, President, Reed Exhibitions Middle East; Brigadier Jassem Mansour Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Secretariat Committee of the ISNR 2016; members of the Higher Committee, heads of delegations; exhibitors; and a large number of police officers.
Major General Al Raisi said: “This gathering provides the proper opportunity to exchange friendly conversations and strengthen relations and fruitful cooperation for the benefit of all parties.” Major General Al Raisi conveyed the greetings of the police leadership, and their good wishes for further luck and success. He also expressed his thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the event.
Major General Al Raisi continued: “Your presence in our beloved capital, Abu Dhabi, to attend the activities of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016, falls in line with the efforts of cooperation and collaboration among the countries and companies that you represent. It also complements the efforts exerted by your respective countries to develop and improve their homeland security, resilience, crisis management, firefighting, and emergency and public safety, in a manner that meets the economic and population growth requirements.”
“I am confident that the momentum of this event’s agenda, together with the scheduled workshops, will help to enhance the national security expertise and strategies, as well as the cooperation and collaboration among all participating entities. These activities will also achieve the visions of our leaders and the aspirations of our people in the fields of national security, resilience, and security challenges management,” he continued. In conclusion, he wished everyone a successful and fruitful event and a pleasant stay in Abu Dhabi.
Reed Exhibitions Middle East President, Frederic Theux also delivered a speech, by which he extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Interior’s officials for their efforts to provide the necessary facilities to bring success to the event. He also thanked the exhibitors for their participation, expressing his hope to see them in the exhibition’s upcoming edition.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi presented commemorative shields to the heads of delegations participating in the exhibition.
He also honored the participating governmental buyers from the UAE; GCC countries; the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; Egypt; and Morroco, on the sidelines of the exhibition.

2,550 school and university students from across the UAE attend the live demonstrations at “ISNR”
More than 2,550 students from various high schools and universities across the country attended “The Aftershock II” live demonstration on responding to crisis and emergencies at the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience “ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016”.
Major Amina Mohamed Khamis Al Baloushi, Head of the Student Visiting Committee at ISNR, said: “The higher leadership has been keen to encourage student participation in the various activities of the exhibition, especially the live demonstration “Aftershock II”. This aims to raise their awareness, instill in their hearts the concepts of security, the values of belonging to the UAE and loyalty to its leadership.”
The students expressed their happiness with the demonstrations; praising the remarkable role played by the Ministry of Interior and the different police bodies in order to raise their awareness about potential dangers and provide them with protection. They added that this approach consolidates the positive relation between the public and police members, and promotes appreciation for their efforts in the service of this country.
Moreover, students emphasized that the exhibition reflects the prestigious status achieved by the UAE by reinforcing security and stability for all citizens, residents, and visitors, and establishing the foundations of security, stability and tranquility for all community members.

Live screening and shows, and police-related competitions
The Security Inspection Department (K9) at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ presented live screenings and shows for visitors of ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016. The K9 police sniffer dogs’ performances were highly acclaimed by the visitors who attended the exhibition.
Colonel Jamal Habash, Head of the Security Inspection Department (K9), said that the department scheduled screenings of documentary films about the efforts of the K9 Department in areas of search and rescue to the public, at the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion.
For his part, First Lieutenant Hamad Mubarak Al Azizi, Office Manager of the Head of the Security Inspection Department (K9) said that the entertaining shows, which included tug of war competitions, balloons contests, as well as hurdles jumping; were highly applauded by the audience.
He added: “We are constantly keen to acquaint the public with the vital role played by the K9 department and its various activities. We also strive to spread awareness and highlight the tasks pertaining to community protection.”
In conclusion, First Lieutenant Al Azizi noted that children enjoyed the hurdles jumping show and were keen to have their photo taken with the dogs.
